The Austin Chapter of Credit Unions has begun our annual effort to raise money for the new Dell Children’s Hospital of Austin by selling raffle tickets at all Austin area credit unions. By purchasing a raffle ticket for only $1, you get a chance at winning a 2007 Pontiac G6 gifted by Nyle Maxwell Pontiac GMC, 2 round trip airline tickets (good to anywhere in the contiguous US, Canada, Mexico or South America) gifted by Tramex Travel or a 37” flat panel HP HDTV gifted by Benefits Unlimited.

With our focus on making an impact in community, the Austin Chapter of Credit Unions has committed to raising $2.5 million over a total of eight years to help bring down the cost of such an enormous project. This year marks the halfway point in our goal and once again. Last year, the raffle raised $160,000, for the Medical Center, and we hope to surpass that amount this year with the help of all our members, the community and our vendors.

With its projected opening in June 2007, the Dell Children’s Hospital will be more than triple the size of the current Children’s Hospital. On its 32-acre site, it will offer pediatric inpatient rehabilitation, a mobility gym, fully wireless technology, more play and activity rooms, a healing garden, and family-friendly patient rooms. As we go forward, the hospital will provide enhanced programs for children of Central Texas, which makes this year even more important to become involved. The Austin Chapter of Credit Unions wants to make sure Austin’s future is a healthy one, and the future starts with the children.
